Day 4 of Nile Cruise - Esna and the Temple of Khnum

This morning we'll cruise until we arrive in the village of Hegz.  Our tour leader Gladys has made friends with the women in the village.  They make  handicrafts to sell to tourists so that they can support their families.  Many in our group bought purses, necklaces, pictures, etc., to support these women.  We learned on this trip that women take a backseat role to men but many are starting to exert control over their lives and their families.  This visit was a win-win for the village women and our tour group.  We support each other and everyone came away happy.

We next cruise for four hours to the west bank of the Nile, where we'll stop at the town of Edna.  Here we'll visit the Temple of Khnum, a Greco-Roman structure.

Walking through the village back to the yacht we passed many local shops that cater mainly to tourists.

Tonight will be our last night on our yacht.  The crew has prepared a special dinner for us.  They topped it off by singing to us.
